The African Society for Sexual Medicine (ASSM) was established on October 17, 2014, as a Non-Profit Organisation with a vision to advance sexual medicine education across the African continent. Recognizing the critical need for specialized training and professional development in this field, our founders brought together leading experts and educators to create a comprehensive curriculum.
Our organization is unique in its focus on African-specific sexual health challenges while exploring the potential of traditional African remedies alongside modern medical practices. This culturally grounded approach ensures that our education and research remain relevant and accessible to healthcare professionals across the continent.
Since our inception, we have grown into a respected Pan-African organization serving healthcare professionals from numerous countries. Our bilingual approach (English and French) breaks down language barriers, making world-class sexual medicine education accessible throughout Africa.
