Membership Classes
The ASSM has three classes of members: Full Member, Free Member and Honorary Members.
Full Members
Full Members of the Society are those persons living in Africa and surrounding countries, including the off-shore islands. They should have specific interest in Sexual Medicine and appropriate qualifications as determined by the Board of Directors.
All voting rights of the membership shall be vested in the Full Members.
Free Members
Associate Members of the Society are those persons who do not fulfil the criteria for Full Membership. Associate Members shall have no voting rights and may not hold office in the Society.
Apply for free membership during 2026 — access lasts until 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027, renewal is $50 USD per year (no voting rights).
Honorary Members
Honorary Members are those persons who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, have performed services warranting their appointment and who have been elected by ballot at a general meeting.
Request honorary membership for Board review. Honorary members have no voting rights and may not hold office; membership does not require annual renewal.
